naamsa | The Automotive Business Council announced on Tuesday that CEO Mikel Mabasa has stepped down to “pursue personal interests outside the organisation”.

Mabasa was at the helm of the auto sector body for more than six years.

“Under his stewardship, naamsa has consolidated its position as a credible and authoritative voice of the industry, actively shaping policy discourse and strengthening stakeholder engagement across both the public and private sectors,” naamsa noted in a media release.

“A key feature of his leadership has been the expansion and diversification of naamsa’s membership base, reinforcing the organisation’s representativity and influence within the broader mobility ecosystem.”

naamsa did not name a replacement for Mabasa.

The industry association represents 42 companies involved in the manufacturing, assembly, distribution and importation of new vehicles.
