Commenting on DSV’s sponsorship of the 2026 SAPICS Conference, Anthony Diack, Managing Director of Contract Logistics at DSV in South Africa, said SAPICS, as the country’s premier supply chain conference, is especially important now when global supply chains are experiencing unprecedented disruption and rapid transformation, from geopolitical shifts and global trade uncertainty to rapid advances in technology and automation. “The SAPICS Conference is an important opportunity for industry players to reflect on market developments, benchmark solutions and share practical insights,” he said.
Artificial intelligence, automation and digitalisation are among the topics on the programme at the 2026 conference, alongside broader conversations around sustainability, collaboration, infrastructure efficiency and supply chain resilience. “DSV believes infrastructure performance is an urgent challenge facing South Africa and the African region, particularly port efficiency, rail reliability and trade corridor optimisation. These issues directly impact cost competitiveness and regional trade flows, and addressing them is fundamental to South Africa remaining a competitive trade gateway.”
Diack said it was important for business to balance resilience with cost competitiveness as they navigate ongoing global uncertainty, tariff shifts, cybersecurity risks and increasing supply chain digitisation. “As the SAPICS Conference brings together supply chain professionals, industry experts, thought leaders, business leaders, technology providers and policymakers from across Africa and beyond, it is the ideal place to explore challenges and share solutions.”
