Electromechanical equipment company ACTOM last month launched the Siyakhona Differently laundromat facility in Germiston, in Gauteng, as part of ACTOM’s plan to equip and empower differently abled professionals with important business skills and sustainable employment opportunities. Lumkile Nkomfe tells us more.

ACTOM Group executive director Sylvester Makamu said the laundromat initiative arose from the company’s objective of making a greater contribution towards developing a more inclusive workplace and fostering sustainable enterprise development.

Makumu also explained that a laundry business was placed at the forefront of this initiative as it offered accessible employment opportunities, mentorship, training and access to additional developmental resources.
