Industrial lubricants supplier AndisaZA has strategically entered South Africa’s industrial lubricants market, positioning itself as a key supplier for high-performance and specialty lubrication solutions.

Valued at about R7.6-billion, the industrial lubricants sector presents a highly lucrative opportunity for emerging independent resellers and serves as a critical part of South Africa’s manufacturing, mining and heavy engineering industries.

AndisaZA operates by acting as a highly accessible broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) supplier backed by strong global technical partnerships.

“We are now actively marketing AndisaZA products throughout South Africa. Our main products are Royal Purple Industrial; BioMax, which provides environmentally acceptable lubricant options; and SulNOx, which is fuel-conditioning technology aimed at reducing fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions.

“We also intend to introduce other products over time. We have signed a distributorship agreement with engineering consultant Lubrication Engineers that provides us with access to its high-quality base oils, proprietary additive technologies, extensive product range and the company’s considerable intellectual property,” AndisaZA director Gavin Ford says.

He adds that, rather than competing on price alone, AndisaZA aims to deliver long-term value through improved equipment protection, extended lubricant life, reduced maintenance and lower operating costs.

One of the company’s objectives is to improve stock availability as its notes that previously, certain products could take six weeks to four months to arrive.

Ford also highlights that the biggest challenges faced by heavy industry include lubricant wastage, frequent oil changes, equipment downtime, environmental concerns and inconsistent product availability, but stresses the importance of AndisaZA’s products in effectively addressing these issues.

AndisaZA was founded by Ford and business partner Portia Hadebe with the goal of filling a gap in the South African industrial lubricants sector and now the company currently holds a Level 2 BBBEE status.

“Two years ago, my business partner and I attended the 2024 Electra Mining Africa exhibition where we discussed the considerable opportunities attached to opening an industrial lubricants distributorship with a high BBBEE status.

“Our immediate priority is to build a strong customer base and a reliable distribution network. We are not restricting ourselves to a single sector as our product range can serve almost any industry that uses industrial equipment, lubricants or fuel,” Ford says.
