Name of the Project
Brime gas project.

Location
Production licences PL 050DS, PL 120B and PL 193GS, between the Gullfaks and Visund fields in the northern North Sea, Norway.

Project Owner/s
International energy company Equinor Energy (74.66%) and operator, and Norwegian State-owned petroleum and natural gas company Petoro (25.34%).

Project Description
Brime is planned as a four-well subsea development, with the wells drilled from a new template tied back to the existing Visund Sør seabed template. The wellstream, which will comprise mainly gas, will be sent to Gullfaks C for processing and then transported to Kårstø for export.

The development will also establish the basis for a possible phased development of the nearby Nøkken discovery using sidetracks from two Brime wells.

Recoverable volumes are estimated at between 16-million and 34-million barrels of oil equivalent.

Potential Job Creation
Not disclosed.

Capital Expenditure
Brime is included in a coordinated package of contracts worth about NKr6-billion across four subsea projects.

Planned Start/End Date
Start and end dates have not been disclosed.

Latest Developments
Equinor announced early contract awards for long-lead subsea equipment and installation services on July 7, 2026. The equipment is being ordered before final sanction to shorten project execution time; standard equipment may be used by later projects should Brime not be sanctioned or approved.

Key Contracts, Suppliers and Consultants
TechnipFMC (subsea production system); OneSubsea (umbilical); Ocean Installer (marine operations to install and connect the subsea facilities, control cables and flexible pipelines); and NOV (flexible pipelines).
