Nissan launches new Tekton for the South African market

Automotive company Nissan has launched the new Nissan Tekton for the South African market during the company’s Nissan Auto Festival held last month. Tasneem Bulbulia tells us more.

South Africa was the first African market to receive this model since the global launch in India, underscoring the importance of the country to the group. Nissan Africa and Europe president Jordi Villa elaborates on the launch, and details the new Tekton.

Villa says the launch demonstrated Nissan’s continued commitment to South Africa, despite it having sold its manufacturing plant in the country to Chery South Africa earlier this year amid the consolidation of manufacturing to certain plants and the shift to imports for certain regions. He explains what the impact of this shift would be.
