Brief Description  
Pinnacles is a shallow, high-grade silver/lead/zinc mine that has been restarted as an openpit ore source for BHM's Rasp processing operation in Broken Hill. The restart was completed on schedule and within budget at the end of the June quarter of 2026, with first ore hauled about 15 km to the Rasp plant. 

BHM is also assessing a larger underground development as a further ore source. The property is held under Mining Leases 4436, 5627, 5835, 5836, 5849 and 870, and Environmental Protection Licence 5261.

Brief History  
Mining started at Pinnacles in 1884 as a small-scale underground lead/silver operation and reached only about 80 m below surface. 

Edward Williams acquired the mine in 1952, and the Williams family has progressively developed and operated it since then. 

Operations from the Edwards openpit started in early 2007, initially producing lead oxide ore for transport to Port Pirie and later expanding to on site zinc and lead concentrate production. The operation was placed on care and maintenance in 2020 owing to Covid-19, although drilling continued. 

BHM completed the mine restart at the end of the June quarter of 2026, delivering the first ore since 2021 for treatment at Rasp.

Geology/Mineralisation  
Pinnacles is a metamorphosed volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit. 

Mineralisation occurs in several lodes and deposits, including the Pinnacles Limb, Consols, Fisher, Junction, Rope shaft and Perseverance. The resource interpretation distinguishes lead-rich main lead lodes and zinc-rich immediate-footwall lodes. Mineralised contacts range from sharp to diffuse, and gold assays can assist interpretation of the more gold-rich zinc lodes. The high-grade Perseverance underground zone extends for more than 350 m down dip, remains open, is up to 100 m wide and has interpreted thicknesses of about 2 m to 10 m.

Resources  
The current mineral resource is estimated at about six-million tonnes grading 10.9% zinc equivalent – 4.7% zinc, 3.3% lead, 133 g/t silver and 0.5 g/t gold. 

The detailed tonnage is 5.971-million tonnes, comprising 168 000 t measured, 847 000 t indicated and 4.956-million tonnes inferred. 

The openpit resource totals 995 000 t and the underground resource 4.976-million tonnes.

Mining Method  
Openpit mining is being used for the restarted operation. BHM proposes a combination of openpit and underground mining for the broader resource. A potential exploration decline is being considered to provide access to the high-grade underground zone and support an expedited underground development.

Major Infrastructure/Equipment  
Pinnacles has in-pit mining and crushing infrastructure, established haul and public road connections to Broken Hill, and a rail siding near the mine. Ore is hauled about 15 km to BHM's 750 000 t/y Rasp processing plant, where it is treated by grinding, sequential flotation, thickening and filtration to produce silver-lead and zinc concentrates. The Rasp site also provides concentrate-handling and rail infrastructure linking the operation to Port Pirie, the Port of Adelaide and other markets.

Prospects  
BHM plans to accelerate resource growth and mine development through a 25 000 m drilling campaign across priority targets. 

Infill and step-out drilling is targeting Consols, Fisher, Rope Shaft, Junction and Perseverance and is intended to support future resource updates and mining-option studies. 

BHM is assessing near-term underground development at Perseverance, while the wider exploration target of 6-million to 15-million tonnes grading 2% to 4% zinc, 3% to 6% lead and 40 g/t to 125 g/t silver provides additional conceptual upside.
