Schneider Electric, a global energy technology leader, will participate in this year’s Association of Municipal Electricity Utilities (AMEU) Convention and Exhibition 2026, taking place from 4–7 October in Polokwane and hosted by Polokwane Municipality.

Under the theme Pioneering the Grid of the Future: Decarbonising and Digitalising Municipal Power Networks, Schneider Electric will demonstrate how municipalities, utilities, and distributors can take practical steps to build cleaner, smarter, and more resilient power networks.

South Africa’s, municipalities are faced with modernising ageing infrastructure while at the same time improving reliability, operational visibility and sustainability.

Schneider Electric’s participation at AMEU 2026 will focus on how combining electrification, digitalisation and automation can help address these challenges and create a more flexible and future-ready grid.

The company will also engage with municipalities, utilities, consulting engineers and other electricity stakeholders on the challenges they face today and how practical technology choices can support their long-term network modernisation goals.
