CIPC celebrates fifteenth anniversary, tenth year of clean audits
Regulator the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary serving the South African economy by formalising businesses and promoting investment.
It has also achieved a decade of consecutive clean audits.
The CIPC achieved this by positioning itself as a reputable public institution, driven by digital technologies, innovation and collaboration.
Since 2011, when the Companies Act merged the Companies and Intellectual Property Registration Office and the Office of Companies and Intellectual Property Enforcement, the CIPC has rolled out digital services and established processes, digital foundations, an innovation drive, pandemic resilience, partnerships and beneficial ownership.
“This automation transition has ushered in an era that has transformed the institution, evolving from manual systems to a modernised, digital, paperless regulator as part of our vision and value-add to South Africans,” CIPC Commissioner Rory Voller says.
“The commission will build on the progress achieved, move onto the right path and pursue another decade of innovation, service excellence and regulatory leadership.
“The CIPC was recognised as one of the Public Sector Leader Icons at the Public Sector Leadership Summit 2026, which highlights its dedication to good governance, innovation and the provision of quality services to South Africans,” Voller says.
