Sanral CEO steps down

The South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) has confirmed that its CEO, Reginald Demana, has resigned with effect from August 31.

Demana will move to a new, not yet known, position in the financial services sector.

He joined Sanral as CEO in January 2023.

During his tenure, Sanral made “significant progress” on strategic infrastructure projects, including the R573 Moloto road, the N2 Wild Coast road, the N2-N3 KwaZulu-Natal upgrades, the N2 corridor in Mpumalanga and the N1 south corridor, says the State-owned roads company in a statement.

These projects encompass both toll and non-toll road portfolios.

Demana also worked to resolve the Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project e-toll issue.

Sanral says its board will soon begin the recruitment process for a new CEO.
